PostHeaderIcon SUMMER LEAGUE INFO

Manchester Ballers Association is offering 4 different Summer Leagues beginning in June.

WEEKDAY LEAGUES A (Mon Tue)   B (Wed Thur)

The A league is a very competitive league, with many former high school stars and college players, as well as 20 something former high school and college ballers. Those games are played on Mondays OR Tuesdays, and will begin on Monday, June 18th. B league is competitive but at a lower level. Many players did play high school ball, while some have got their hoop education on the playgrounds. B league games are played on Wednesdays OR Thursdays. B league begins Wednesday, June 20th. It’s important that players sign up for the proper league. Underskilled players should not be joining the A league, while overskilled players should not be joining the B league. A common guide to use is that if you could not prosper and do well at your current level in a Varsity high school game, you should not be joining the A league. Contrarily, if you are a far above average player you should not be playing in the B league.

SUNDAY MEN’S LEAGUE

Open to all varying degrees of players but more relaxed than the weekday leagues. In the Sunday league it is common to see players of varying strengths and weaknessess. In the Sunday League the owner will mix players or make trades to try to create parity, if needed. Sunday league games are played between noon  and 3 pm. Sunday league starts June 3rd!

SUNDAY WOMEN’S LEAGUE:

I am hoping that the first MBA women’s league will be ready to go in June! Games will be played Sunday Mornings from 9 am to noon. The owner will mix squads and players, if needed, to create parity. Women’s Sunday league starts June 3rd!

PRICING:

Team fees for all leagues are $600. Each team gets 8 regular session games, and from 1 to 3 playoff games. Regardless of record, every team DOES get at least 1 playoff game.

DEPOSITS: Rookie and veteran teams must have  deposits before the first game!  Rookie Team deposits are $300, while veteran team deposits are $200. NO Individual ROOKIE baller will take the court without paying at least 50 pct of their fee. Unfortunately, a few people who have abused the league with attempts to not pay have forced me to require a deposit.

CONTACT: If you wish to join the league as an individual or as a team, be sure to message me to lock up your spot! I can be reached at 486-3946 or at coachdoucet@hotmail.com

       A League

1 Manchester Ballers’ 4-1     **Have one of best players in Poitras, who can change things on defense and is a tough cover with his size on offense. Can make a run to finals If Rizza is on, Donovan stays heady at pg, and Clark stays as a factor. Adam is a very good athlete who can beat you with his speed and quickness. Bench play must be sufficient to keep them as a contender.

2 Boys Club 3-1  ** Team dropped a game to La Coup, and came back pouncing on a  B team, so only a true test and time will tell how much these guys are meshing. Carmona and Lawes backcourt is a hude edge every game, while Field and Taxi strength down low help them dominate the windows. Crucial for Rice to be fluid and shooting well on offense, while Konts must do his part and be the banger of the team doing the little things. A favorite to make the finals.

3 Gold Star 3-2 (forfeited one game) Super stacked team that will be a very tough out if all guys qualify (4 games played) for playoffs and show up. Team is led by KO, who may be the best player in league. Add Madol, Grenier,  Stevens, Chergey, Stowell and Judd and you just gotta smell the stack. The clear favorites to win it all, but beatable by top tier teams.

4 NY Life 3-2  Team starts and ends with Syla. Savvy creative pg must be on to keep them in games. Lineup after him features a athletic Porter who is quick and a fine rebounder, Andrew who can shoot lights out, Riel who shoots well and is feisty, as well as a few others who come in and do their part. If this team can get a playoff  game into the high 90′s and a running affair they will be in it.

5 Borden 3-2 Sleeper group of A league as the majority of players are unknown by many. Team captain Graham Borden usually has his way on offense, leading them in scoring nearly every game. Jeff Brown is a tough defender who can also beat you with his speed, pump fake and reliable jump shot. Rest of team are feisty and play hard, and always within a  team framework. The organization and maturity of this team will keep them in nearly all games.

6 Tripoli Bakery 2-3  Team is led by pg play of feisty Jose Otero, who usually has his way on offense doing whatever he wants. The pint sized pg can push well, drive at will, and finish with the best of them. While team is relatively undersized Mosher and Lopez’ grit and toughness keep them alive on rebounds. Frankin and Leo are both very athletic and can heat up on offense from the wings, which is a bonus with Otero’s drive and kick skills.  Team is not a favorite but can make noise in playoffs if playing well.

7 LaCoup Barber Shop 1-5 Addition of Duffley seems to have made an impact on this team, which has seen an overhaul on the roster. Duffley usually gets the looks he wants, and is going to have to convert to keep them in games. Fine shooting of L’Esperance is needed, and he must get the rock to show his 3 point shooting prowess. Hanscom and the Brick play feisty, and bring energy that is needed to team. Michaelson and Garcia are team players who want to make others better, and both can put the ball in the hoop. Galvin brings a hi iq and toughness, which is needed for this team. They are still playoff underdogs but can make more noise with this revamped roster. They did get a huge win over Boys Club, which was easily the biggest upset of the session so far.
