Week 7 of the MBA Owl League had a little bit of everything – two competitive matchups, a strong comeback, and plenty of guys stepping up for their teams.

Pete’s Painting took down APC 62-48 in a matchup between two teams that have shown they can compete. Pete’s controlled the game from the start and never gave APC a chance to take the lead, using a balanced scoring attack to pull away. Derek Gobis and Edgardo Velez led the way with 14 points apiece, while Peter Joffre Jr. added 10. Adalberto Aguirre also chipped in for Pete’s. APC was led by Tom Crowley with 13 points, with Billy Farnsworth adding 12.

The second game of the night saw Team Link defeat Teale Law 64-54 after falling behind by double digits early. Rather than letting the game get away, Team Link slowly clawed its way back, eventually taking the lead and closing out the win. Nick Pigeon led the comeback with 20 points, while Billy Burke added 18 and Nicholas Wilder finished with 15. Teale Law was led by a strong 22-point performance from Joshua Mattson, with Devin Maglio adding 17 in the loss.

With the Owl League continuing to roll toward the end of the season, both games showed just how quickly things can change on a Monday night at the MBA. Teams are battling, guys are stepping up, and there’s still plenty left to settle.
