Week 2 of the Wednesday Power League showed exactly why this is becoming the place to be for the highest level of men’s basketball at MBA. The speed, skill and overall pace of play continue to stand out, with six teams capable of competing on any given night.
Dempsey Financial Group came back from an 11-point halftime deficit to defeat Teale Law 64-57. Teale controlled the first half, knocking down shots and getting clean looks, but Dempsey came out of the break with a quick run that completely shifted the game. Robenson Baguidy led the comeback with 24 points, while Riley Cote stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points along with boards, assists and defense. Gabriel Castillo paced Teale Law with 23 in the loss.
Let’s Play Collectibles put together the most dominant performance of the night, rolling past Cellular Freedom 91-50. Rashawn Prescott led a balanced attack with 27 points, while Kuany Teng, Daniel Mitchell and JB Luongo each added 18. Jay Maheux chipped in 14 as Let’s Play’s pace and ball movement proved too much to handle. Brandon Burks led Cellular Freedom with 16.
Aftermath continued to make its case as the team to beat at MBA, defeating Pete’s Painting 66-41. Aleksandar Dobrovic poured in 26, with Matt Ganem adding 22 and Stix Woods 13. Pete’s was led by Rodney Hill with 16.
