Week 9 of Tuesday Rec brought another strong night of basketball as the season starts to wind down, with several teams making their push heading toward the finish.
Max Value Payments held on for a 61-59 win over APC in the night’s closest game. Max Value jumped out to an early lead, but APC battled all the way back to make it a one-possession game late. With the game coming down to the final possession, APC had a chance to tie or take the lead, but a floater missed at the buzzer kept Max Value on top. Jamil Delorey led the way with 22 points, followed by Rodney Hill with 16 and Edwin Cruz with 15. APC was paced by Jason Walker with 23.
Embrace Home Loans continues to trend upward, picking up a 63-35 win over Hailey Printing. James Omos led all scorers with 25 points, while Richard B added 12. Embrace has now put together a solid stretch of basketball and is becoming a team to watch as the season moves toward its final weeks.
Pete’s Painting picked up one of the night’s biggest wins, defeating Home Guard Home Maintenance 72-57. Pete’s came into the matchup looking for some revenge after losing to Home Guard by just one point earlier in the season, and they delivered. Ezekiel Mccoy led Pete’s with 21, while Nate Holmes added 16. Home Guard was led by Matt Howie with 14 and Mike Swanson with 13.
Team Link also had a strong night, taking down Let’s Play Collectibles 67-44. Conor Hein led Team Link with 24 points, followed by Matt Burris with 18 and Austin Larocque with 16.
With the regular season winding down, every game carries a little more weight. The standings are starting to take shape, but there is still plenty of basketball left to be played.
